expectation

remember a sociology guest lecturer said during a lecture on Family, she talked about 'expectation' which i couldn't agree more..

she said if a random boy in the class had not hold the door for her, or slam the door in front of her face.. she'd probably be annoyed n sighed, 'young men now are ill mannered'. on a contrary, if my lecturer which is her fren were to slam the door in from of her, she would probably be angry, and hold grudges for a week and treat it as a joke with their colleagues. BUT.. if the person were to be her husband... she said.. SHE WOULD HAVE A COLD WAR WITH HIM FOR ONE WHOLE MONTH..

haha.. interesting isn't it?

when the person is a stranger, u wouldn't have any the expectation from him. if he were a friend, u would probably have higher expectation that he would treat you better. the point is.. the closer the person is to you, the more you would expect from him or her and you cant understand why couldn't they do this and why couldnt they do that.. take a step back a think... why would he or she do so much for you? they are not obliged to anyway...n that time you will realize.. it is so natural for you to that did not realize your expectation is sometimes unreasonable...

to avoid disappointment, maybe it's better to always watch the expectation you hold from others, that way.. each party will feel better and less heartache will occur. =)
